Van Wrap
I am thinking of buying a van (used) and wrapping it. I am planning to get something for about $6k. Any advice on what type of van and wrap to get and why?
- The Van: Buy a mid-2000s to 2012 Chevy Express 2500 or Ford E-250. They are bulletproof, cheap to fix, handle heavy equipment weight, and have flat sides that make wrapping cheap and easy.
- The Wrap: Do not get a full wrap. It costs $3k+ and wastes money on a $6k van. Do a partial wrap (just the back half) or heavy cut-vinyl lettering on a clean white van. It looks professional for under $1,500.
- The Design: Keep it dead simple. Big logo, what you do, phone number, website. If people can't read it in 3 seconds at 45 mph, it's a failure.
- The Trap: Do not buy a van with rust or peeling paint. Vinyl won't stick to it, and the shop will charge you a fortune in body prep before they touch it.
