What's your favorite way to accept client payments? ๐Ÿ‘€

Fav method and why!

Credit cards? Cash? Payments software?

  • We have over 700 residential snow removal customers so chasing down payments can be a problem.

Credit cards. Great for simplifying payments but the fees can add up to thousands of dollars per month. Many costumers choose checks to avoid us passing on the fees to them.

E-transfer. No fee and funds are instantly available, but too much relying on the customer being reliable. We still get etransfers from customers that weโ€™ve trained to be reliable.

Cash. Too hard to collect and keep track of.

Post dated checks: I can deposit 100 checks at a time at the drive through ATM. I read them all out to the VAs in a WhatsApp audio and it takes them an hour or two to mark them complete. That saves $500 per month in credit card fees.

  • I personally prefer card. I'll send you your invoice and be done with it.

I'd like to save on the CC fees that stack up but I can up my prices a little and work it into my costs.

I don't like having to go through 3rd party apps to get payments and I don't want to make an extra stop at the bank to deposit cash.

Checks are probably the best balance since there's no fees and I can deposit from my phone and have the money faster than Jobber pays. Granted, my business is mostly low ticket items. High ticket items might be slow to land in your account via check.
