What are you doing right now to make the phone ring for your business?

what is your go to advertisements or sales tactics to get lead generation?

We have been in business for over 17 years now servicing the Tampa bay area and this year has hit us the hardest.

I am an isa certified arborist and I do engage in networking and community events but despite our best efforts we are still experiencing a lack of leads.

I don't want to just throw money at the wall but we are running out of options.

what are some things that are working for you?

Hey Brooks, we’re sorry to hear this. A couple of quick “cheap” wins may be to create and share a social media post from your companies business page into local Facebook groups (Some allow this, some don’t).

These would just be typical Facebook posts. A helpful tip would be to add a link to online booking through jobber to get people in the funnel. We find the link helps in instances where they may see the post after hours or would prefer to book service/requests at their leisure.

Depending on your client data you may even try sending an email campaign through jobber about getting scheduled quicker and more seamless through the online bookings link or service request link.

RIGHT NOW - I'm working on dialing in facebook and IG ads. There's a really good course I can refer you if you message me. What I WOULDN'T do, is hire an ad agency. Take the responsibility to learn the stuff yourself and do it.

  • All solid advice in here. One thing I would add that often gets overlooked: before throwing more money at getting the phone to ring, it's worth making sure you're actually capturing every call that already comes in.

Most busy home service businesses are missing 20 to 30 percent of inbound calls, especially after hours and during peak season when everyone is in the field. If you're spending on ads and half those calls are hitting voicemail, you're paying to generate leads you're not actually getting.

Fixing the capture side first makes every dollar you spend on marketing go further.

  • I was using a paid lead platform called Homestars and that was getting me in front of a lot of customers. I recently decided that hiring a marketing team would be in my best interest and I am hoping this pays off as a good ROI. Either way I wouldn't consider cheap, but the paid leads are working out and I hope for good results from the marketing firm.

  • brooksmcnichols I think the QUICKEST way to get a job is calling past clients. Next, there are door knockers with WRITTEN pricing on them. These instant quotes catch people's eyes. Lastly, I do EDDM (every door direct mail) postcards with PCM. At less than a dollar a mailer, it's well worth getting that extra touch on the customer.

I hope this helps. Keep your head up out there!
