Great advice. I’ve started treating the first conversation as part of my estimate process. A quick phone call helps me understand the customer’s needs, verify the property, and build trust on both sides. If someone refuses to talk, won’t answer calls, or only communicates through vague texts, that’s usually a sign to slow down and do a little more due diligence before investing my time.
I’ve also found that using a CRM like Jobber to keep detailed customer information, service history, and communication records helps me stay organized and spot patterns if something feels off. Protecting our time is just as important as protecting our equipment. Stay safe out there, everyone!
