What training, certifications, or partnerships are worth pursuing?

We're a small NYC contractor that recently became MWBE certified. We're exploring accessibility and aging-in-place modifications, including grab bars, handrails, bathroom safety improvements, and other home modifications that help people remain safely in their homes.

I'd love to hear from contractors already working in this space.

Have any certifications, organizations, agencies, referral partnerships, or training programs helped you generate work? What has been worth the investment, and what would you avoid?

  • My in-laws have a company like this and they got in with the council on aging in their county, so the county pays them to install the grab bars for senior citizens. So that is a good lead area if you can get in contact with something similar to them.
