Best insurance companies for flatbed trucks?

What insurance companies are y’all using for your trucks that have flatbeds?

We were recently dropped from our progressive insurance plan after 10+ years of insurance coverage.

  • Progressive dropped a lot of people recently, especially anyone with commercial use or flatbeds.

We use State Farm for our box trucks and flatbeds. They’ve been pretty good and actually understand commercial work.

A lot of guys I know also use Cincinnati Insurance or Travelers. Both are solid for commercial vehicles.

What kind of truck are you insuring and what do you use it for? That makes a big difference in who will actually cover you.

  • My landscape truck is the only vehicle that I can't carry on my State Farm Insurance because it has a flat bed. I have had it insured through Nationwide, Allstate, Heartford. My agent carries multiple insurance and watches ways for me to save on coverage. Also, if you have a dump bed on your truck don't tell them its a dump truck because the rates increase.

So our agent (Progressive )was able to switch our policy to commercial. But it sure came with a price increase. I’m wondering on our other trucks if I should ever mention the flatbed again.lol
