You've got 20 minutes with a Shark Tank investor. What would you ask?

Daymond John, Shark Tank investor and the person who built FUBU from his mom's house into a $6B brand, is doing a fireside chat at Jobber Now next week!! 🔥 And we want the questions to come from you.

If you had Daymond John one-on-one for 20 minutes,
what would you actually ask?

Nothing's off limits. Brand? Pricing? How he thinks about mentorship? 🤔💭

Drop your question in the thread, and we'll pull as many as we can into the session.

I would ask him, "Early on with FUBU, you faced massive demand but had tight capital constraints before securing major backing. For a growing service business trying to scale up equipment and crew without overleveraging cash flow, what is the single biggest mistake owners make when taking on capital to grow"?

I would ask him if you have a business that's primarily project based, how do you increase the EBITA? I know a lot of investors like businesses that have subscriptions or re-occurring business but I'm wondering how it would be possible if that wasn't your business. Or Have you ever seen a general contractor with some type of reoccurring business model.

  • If you were building a business from the ground up today, what would you focus on first to build credibility and attract funding?

I would ask him, "What would you do if you felt like you were just stuck at a certain revenue level and spinning your wheels, and it didn't seem to matter if you put in more hard work or more marketing dollars? Sales just have kind of plateaued. You're starting to blame the economy, the government, the market. What would you do in this situation?"
