For printed marketing in Canada, the best value I found was designing my own flyer and getting quotes directly from local print shops. The key question to ask them: do you have a deal with Canada Post for Neighbourhood Mail delivery?
If they do, they handle the printing and Canada Post prep separately — the labeling, stacking, bundling requirements that Canada Post needs. You just pay for both pieces individually instead of going through a marketing company that bundles everything at a huge markup.
For the same campaign I was quoted around $20,000 through a marketing company. Going direct with a local printer plus Canada Post came out to about $8,000 for the same volume.
