What strategies are working best for electrical contractors to get more jobs?

I am an Electrical Contractor who does residential and light commercial projects. Our focus of service though had us looking for different opportunities, so I printed off a list of local Retirement homes and nursing centers (medical facilities that tend to have service needs) and introduced myself with a business card. I also did the same for Property Management Companies. So far its been working out really well. It also keeps us more local on projects and creates more contacts.
