Hey everyone — looking for some advice from other service business owners.
I run a small land clearing/brush clearing business in Ohio, and with how wet it’s been in our area lately, things are starting to slow down a bit. I’m trying to be proactive and focus on marketing so I can keep work coming in and continue growing the business. For those of you who’ve been in a similar spot, what marketing has actually worked best for you to bring in more customers and keep jobs lined up? Facebook ads, Google ads, yard signs, referrals, local networking, something else? I’d especially love to hear what’s worked well for seasonal or outdoor service businesses when weather starts affecting the schedule. Appreciate any advice or ideas you’re willing to share.Who Here Has Had Success with Yard Signs?
I'm a part of Home Service Accelerator and one of the main things they recommend is to use unbranded yard signs and put them in high value areas to get leads. It's a volume play. Basically you put out 100 signs but if you book one job (in my industry) it pays for the $400 in yard signs you spent (plus your time). Now I should mention I haven't been super consistent with this which I believe could be my issue. I also don't know who would hit up a yard sign for a kitchen remodel BUT you never know. My process to find where to put them is to go on the USPS website and find the mail routes with the highest average income then determine which streets to put it on from there. Is anyone else using this strategy? I'd love some pointers if you are having some success with it.
How To Get Customers Without Relying on Thumbtack or Lead Generation Apps?
Hey yall. Im Simon 35 based in Brooklyn NYC and im a Mobile Welder. My jobs comes from Thumbtack however that platform along with others like it are beginning to get saturated with low ballers. Any advice you guys can offer for marketing and customer reach? Im open to all suggestions and guidance.Anyone had their Google business page suspended?
Jobber has a function that puts your request form on the GMB page. When I went to do this, it unauthenticated my google business page and now I'm suspended. I don't think it was jobber specifically but I'm wondering if anyone has had any strategies to quickly get their page back?
Why is is so hard to find advertisement marketing agencies that actually work?
I'm still a fairly small business so I cant afford to try everyone on the market but so far everyone I've tried just kind of sucks at there own job. Now marketing really isn't my forte which is why I'd prefer to just pay someone to do it for me. Here's the problem though. Everyone wants $500-$1200 start up fee + $500-800 monthly fee. I can afford that just fine when my calendar is full but I'm with my 2nd company already and so far both of them are just trash. The first guy was alright but it always took 3 or 4 days to get responses to my messages. My guy I'm using now I'm just closing in on a month of using him; he has a teem of over 10 employees, he's usually vary responsive, and he always has a lot to say about what he's working on. But in 1 month of using him so far I've gotten 10 leads and 4 of them booked. Now for some business models out there that might be fine but for me I need 2 jobs a day to stay busy. So I'm just curious what all of you think about this and if y'all have any advice for me here?
What are the best marketing strategies beyond Thumbtack and Yelp?
Good day everyone, I am looking for feedback on better marketing ideas for my HVACR company. I tried the useless thumbtack, and am using Yelp with Google currently but not getting much for results on closures. Any suggestions would be welcomed.Google Ads vs LSA — how is everyone actually using these?
Here's where I'm at: I run both Google Ads and Local Services Ads (LSA) for my business. On paper, that sounds like I've got it figured out. In practice, it feels a bit like throwing money at two different machines and hoping one of them spits out jobs. I don't always know which one a new customer came from, and I'm honestly not confident my settings on either are dialed in the way they should be. Obviously the LSA is something I pay for on an individual basis. I just feel like I never get any jobs out of these. Does this hurt me to kill these ads all together? Then google ads I have no idea. I feel like I get a lot of leads from google in general but I don't know how much of that is my website vs the ads. How do you guys approach these?What information did you get from you Google Profile review?
First off thank you Jobber and Phil for doing this. What an amazing thing for you guys to do for us. For those of you who got a review, what did you learn about your profile to strengthen it? I hope we can all compile here and we can all read through and make our GBP that much stronger! I learned that I for sure need more photos on there and I need to link my social media pages.
