Buy a used truck now or wait until we can afford a new one?
We are a small Junk Removal company operating with a single truck. Our current dilemma is whether we should purchase a used truck now and put the extra money into repairs, or to wait a bit longer until we can afford a new truck that won't need repairs right off the lot. There's pros and cons to both options and we just can't decide.Do you utilize battery-powered tools?
Handheld battery-powered tools have come a long way from their first iterations, especially over the past few years. I've started making the switch away from gas-powered equipment throughout the last few seasons for my business and have found the switch to be positive for my workflow and bottom line. This is a trend I believe will continue as batteries become more powerful and long-lasting. Are you utilizing any battery-powered equipment and, if so, do you have any favorites you'd like to share??Should I lease or buy a work vehicle?

So i have a question for all of you out in business. Do you ever buy parts or tools that you use in bulk to have on hand? I keep a could bins of old used parts that I know i still can use of models of the same equipment. But recently when I buy a new part for a certain problem. Not only do i buy the one I need but I also buy a couple extra. Same goes for a certain tool, if its something we use alot, we buy extra, to keep on hand. So i would like to see if any body else does this.

So, as a general contractor, framing, cabinetry, finish carpentry, flooring, and painting as my trades, I am looking into a new form of construction. Literally building the entire structure out of styrofoam. Walls, roof, floors, everything. Curious what this forum/chat would think of it. Is there a niche in northern Arizona for an alternative form of building? A green way of construction in both residential and commercial applications? strataus.com
