Personal Phone Number Vs. Business Phone Number?
As I continue growing my cleaning business, I’ve been thinking more about whether it’s better to use my personal phone number or set up a separate business line. Right now, I handle most communication directly, which makes things simple—but I’m starting to see how it can blur boundaries between work and personal life, especially with calls and messages coming in at all hours. I’m curious how others have handled this as they’ve grown. Do you use your personal number for your business, or did you switch to a dedicated business line? If you made the switch, at what point did it feel necessary? Have you noticed a difference in professionalism or client trust with a business number? What systems or apps do you recommend for managing calls, texts, and voicemails efficiently? How do you set boundaries with clients regarding response times or after-hours communication? For those managing a team, how do you handle incoming calls—do you delegate or keep it centralized? I want to make sure I’m building systems that will grow with my business while still staying responsive and professional. Would love to hear what’s worked (and what hasn’t) for you!specktacularfam10 days agoContributor 340Views1like2CommentsAny integrations that add internal notes?
In an attempt to streamline most of our client data into Jobber while keeping it organizied, we use a series of internal notes to track communication, scheduling, crew notes, etc. Has anyone found any of the integrations that are able to add a note when certain actions happens. Or even add to a note when something happens. Example: each time a new client is created, a series of notes are added with specific text, one for "OFFICE NOTES", one for "SALES REP NOTES", one for "SCHEDULING NOTES"aarontree14 days agoContributor 3282Views3likes15CommentsDouble Payments in QBO via Jobber
I'm having an issue with the Jobber/Quickbooks integration where a customer pays by EFT straight to our bank account and it will register the payment and match with the invoice in QBO but obviously not in Jobber due to one-way integration. I then have to go into Jobber and close the invoice out there, but there's not a way to close the invoice without recording a payment AND have it remove that amount due from the client's account. So I end up having to record a "Ghost payment" and go back into QB and delete that so that it doesn't appear that the invoice has been paid twice. I spoke to Jobber support and they essentially told me to disconnect our bank account from QBO and look to Jobber as the "Source of Truth" for payments - but I can't do that because our bookkeeper uses QBO for taxes and we use QBO for tracking bill payments. Anybody else having this issue and/or find a resolution?chealseyjean23 days agoContributor 226Views0likes0CommentsBusiness Phone Number - Who's Should You Use and How Should You Use it?
When it comes to phone numbers, I treat the Jobber phone number as an “automation line,” not my primary business number. I use it for all the built-in Jobber automations—invoice/receipt texts, appointment reminders, “on my way” notifications, and anything else Jobber sends out automatically. It’s great for consistent system messaging and keeping those operational texts separate from my real day-to-day communication. The reason I don’t use the Jobber number as my main public-facing number (website, trucks, yard signs, etc.) is ownership and portability. The Jobber number can’t be ported out, so if you ever switch systems or change your setup, you don’t truly “own” that number long-term. I’ve made the mistake of putting a non-portable number on marketing before, and it’s a headache when you realize it can’t follow you. Instead, I recommend your primary business number be something you control and can port—either from a carrier, Google Voice (depending on your needs), or another platform where portability is confirmed. Then use tools like Chiirp (and I haven’t personally explored GoHighLevel/Hatch deeply, but they’re in the same category) for your primary communication + higher-level automation, because those platforms typically offer much more robust automation like out-of-office replies, drip campaigns, and automated texting workflows. So my personal setup philosophy is: Jobber number = system/operations messaging only; your “real” business number = portable, owned by you, and used everywhere customer-facing. Then if you need advanced automations like out-of-office replies, I’d build those in a dedicated communication/marketing platform that’s designed for it—not inside the Jobber number.HUGEHomePros25 days agoJobber Ambassador466Views9likes15CommentsXero/Jobber Integration Issues
Hey all! We were quite excited when the XERO / Jobber invoice integration was introduced. However, we have experienced a few issues, the most recent of which has created a rather large problem. It appears that the integration has gone backwards and pushed through doubles of HEAPS of invoices, even those that have been closed or untouched for some time. Needless to say, this has posed a reconciliation nightmare and to add insult to injury, Jobber Support has pointed to the developer who has pointed us back to Jobber who has pointed to Xero Support. Has anybody else experienced this or other issues with this integration?Housekept_Tim25 days agoContributor 3485Views3likes12CommentsHave you used OneStepGPS in Jobber?
Just got a demo of OneStepGPS. I'm looking for a fleet tracking system and integrating with Jobber sounds great. BUT They couldn't run a demo of it in Jobber, didn't have screenshots, really couldn't tell me anything about how it integrates beyond "you'll see everything in Jobber" Anybody have this, can you share how it works, maybe some screen shots? @JobberDevelopers One of the other programs I looked at is on the ball and wants to integrate with Jobber. Get your team talking to Fleet Complete!DarrenSteele25 days agoContributor 4146Views1like2CommentsAutomating client onboarding in a home service business (jobber + Stripe + Zapier)
I’ve been working on simplifying my client onboarding process and recently took it a step further by automating most of it end-to-end. After a client fills out my Jobber request form and adds their credit card on file through Stripe, the system now automatically: Updates the lead status to paid client and add "cc on file" tag sends a confirmation email adds the client to my email list for future communication logs the client in a master sheet for tracking and reporting creates a contact in my phone system sends a welcome text message through my phone system The goal was to reduce back-and-forth, eliminate manual admin steps, and allow clients to get started without waiting on me. It’s still evolving, but it’s already saving time and making onboarding much more consistent. Curious how others are handling onboarding and follow-up.TurfT1 month agoContributor 3244Views3likes4CommentsPhone integration
I love that jobber has it's own phone number I just wish we had the ability to integrate with a business VOIP system so we can call clients from the Jobber app and it calls from our ringcentral business number instead of our cell phone numbers. Right now we have to type it directly into our ringcentral app which can be annoying trying to remember the number or switching between apps to get the number. I do not want customers having everyone's cell phone number. It would be amazing to click on the customers phone number and it asks which app or automatically uses the intergrated voip app.tycalmc1 month agoContributor 274Views1like1CommentCustomize Jobber with ADI, SAS, ect Catalogs
Hi, We recently noticed that Jobber now offers Home Depot as a catalog option, which has been a great addition and very helpful for our team. We are wondering if it is possible to add additional supplier catalogs, such as ADI, LiftMaster, SAS, S&SI, and similar vendors, in the same way the Home Depot catalog is integrated. Since our company specializes in security systems, gates, and access control, having catalog options from suppliers within this industry would be extremely beneficial when creating quotes and managing materials. Does anyone know if this functionality is currently available, or if there are plans for Jobber to expand catalog integrations to include other suppliers? This would be a valuable feature for companies working in specialized trades like ours.89Views1like2Comments
