If I could hand off one task today, it would be answering the phone. As a one man owner/operator, when i'm on a job, I'm also the technician, salesman, and office personell. Being able to focus on the work without worrying about missing the next customer would be HUGE!
For a one-person shop, I'd start with overflow answering so calls get picked up while you're working. An AI phone agent could collect the job details, check your service area and offer an appointment from your actual availability. Give it clear rules for urgent calls and anything that needs your judgment, so you're only interrupted when necessary.
