The biggest time drain for us is the handoff between the field and the office. Jobber does not require a technician to complete a service summary before closing a visit, so we have had to build custom checklists to capture the work performed, findings, readings, materials used, recommended repairs, parts needed, and whether another visit is required.
It would be helpful if completing a visit created a structured technician report and could automatically move the job to the next step, such as preparing an invoice, drafting a quote for recommended work, or flagging the office to schedule a return visit.
Maintenance agreements are another area where we spend a lot of time manually tracking covered equipment, remaining visits, completed visits, future visits, and renewal dates. It would also help if approved maintenance quotes could automatically create the required visits.
The QuickBooks integration could use clearer tax mapping and sync information so it is easier to understand what changed, why it changed, and how to correct or retry a specific transaction.
Overall, Jobber already holds most of the information we need. The biggest improvement for us would be reducing the manual office work required between a technician finishing a visit and the final billing, quoting, approval, and follow-up process.
