I have started a Lawn Care business this year. I am from Maryland so we only have seasonal yard mowing but there is plenty of cleanup and yard work that carries us into the Fall/Winter season. I purchased a small client list but this year I am looking to grow the client list and potentially ad services that a solo crew is capable of handling without over extending myself. I am trying and hoping to learn as much about proper marketing and growth as possible. I would love to have enough work to hire on.
Here are some tips from my experience. First do not waste your money on pay per lead like Angi, Thumbtack etc. Join your local Chamber of Commerce and get involved. Set up a Facebook and Next-door business page and post on them daily. You will find there are groups in your service area that you can target. Use Alignable to network with local business leaders in your area. Now is the time to hit up smaller apartment communities (15-50) units. They typically search for contractors this time of year. Even if they say they already have someone send them your bid. I have won several Apartment communities using this method. Search out property managers/realtors and bank owned properties as they are always looking for contractors to keep their vacant units looking nice. Hope this helps give you some ideas.
