Scammers!

I've recently had a few scam requests for quotes come in. Word to the wise...if a potential client is not willing to engage in a phone call to discuss their service needs, they might be wasting your time!! It's odd that someone would invite you into their home without a conversation or consultation and provides a phone number that rings to an out of state number that they will not answer but only text from.

Be safe out there!!

  • Trusting your gut is a huge part of running a business. Real clients want to talk to the person they are hiring. Enforcing a quick phone consultation doesn't just weed out the scammers; it also helps you qualify the serious, high-quality leads. Thanks for looking out for the community and keeping everyone alert!  We're glad your here!!!

Absolutely. I have had a terrible experience when I just started the business, i am wiser now. these guys are in my DMs all the time, they are always vague. Now I smell them miles away.

  • Great advice. I’ve started treating the first conversation as part of my estimate process. A quick phone call helps me understand the customer’s needs, verify the property, and build trust on both sides. If someone refuses to talk, won’t answer calls, or only communicates through vague texts, that’s usually a sign to slow down and do a little more due diligence before investing my time.

I’ve also found that using a CRM like Jobber to keep detailed customer information, service history, and communication records helps me stay organized and spot patterns if something feels off. Protecting our time is just as important as protecting our equipment. Stay safe out there, everyone!
