Hey everyone, I’m Chris Simmons, owner of Helix Craftworks in York, PA.

We’re a residential remodeling, custom interiors, and small commercial maintenance company. Most of our work is bathrooms, kitchens, tile, trim, built-ins, cabinetry, repairs, and the occasional “this old building is doing something weird” situation.

Helix has been officially in business since 2025, so we’re still young as a company, but I came into it with a mix of hands-on trade work, Navy experience, and years in corporate project/client leadership. That combination has been useful, because running this business is equal parts craftsmanship, communication, scheduling, estimating, and figuring out which fire is actually on fire.

I’m here to compare notes with other contractors, especially around pricing, hiring, systems, customer communication, and scaling without letting quality fall apart.

I'd like to get used to using Jobber more, I've liked what Ive seen so far. 

Thought I'd finally make an entrance and say hello. Have read lots of posts and theres some good information to be found. 

Hi everyone! I'm Natasha, Founder and Principal Residential Designer at Sophiera Studios in Central Oregon.

I've worked in residential design and the building industry for more than 16 years, and started Sophiera Studios to focus on custom residential design and builder-ready house plans.

A big part of my work is bringing all the pieces of a project together. I work closely with homeowners, builders, contractors, engineers, developers, and local jurisdictions throughout the design and permitting process. I've learned over the years that good communication and collaboration can be just as important to a successful project as the design itself.

I'm really looking forward to connecting with more people in the construction and home improvement side of the community, comparing notes, learning how others approach their businesses, and hopefully contributing some of my own experience along the way.

Quick question since you actually run a contracting business:

If you had 30 old estimates that never closed, could you reliably use the information already in your CRM to decide which 5–10 deserve another follow-up first?

Or is that still mostly manual judgment?

I’m trying to find out whether this is actually a problem worth solving, not assume it is.

Doug Guy, co-owner of OKC Shelters and Storm Shelter Repair.   We are based out of Oklahoma City, OK.  
We sell and install storm shelters and safe rooms throughout OK, TX, MO, KS, AR, KY, TN, MS, AL and southern IL.  
We've been using jobber from day one and it has been helpful to keep schedules and communications at our fingertips.

Looking forward to seeing how other use jobber and what other types of hints/use cases that we haven't thought through or experienced yet.  :)
