Has your busy season been slow or your slow season been busy?

Has anyone else ever experienced having a season that is typically slow, turn out to be really busy? Or a expected busy season turn out to be slow?

I had a vacation planned for what is traditionally a slow winter season and I am actually considering postponing it to keep up with work coming in. From the way things are going I could pay off the trip easily if I stay and work another week or two! I am thinking a good week to take off would be March and attend the Jobber Summit from a beach somewhere. Maybe I'll even win the travel voucher and the trip will be paid for!

I wonder if anyone else has had to adapt to a shift in expected workload, and if there are any strategies to managing it?
