Thinking About Community Booster Programs & Pitch Competitions — Worth It?

Hey Everyone!

I’m curious to hear your real, lived experiences with community booster programs and pitch competitions for small business owners and entrepreneurs. I’ve been seeing a lot more of these pop up  things like business incubators, mentorship programs, pitch competitions with cash prizes or resources and I’ve been wondering…

Are they worth the time and energy?

I know every opportunity isn’t created equal, but I’d love to hear:

Have you participated in any that truly helped move the needle for your business?

Did they offer real support, or was it more fluff and show?

What made the best ones actually helpful was it the people, the training, the exposure?

And if you passed on one, why?

I'm especially drawn to things that are rooted in community and meaningful connection not just dollars and branding (though hey, those are nice too).

Appreciate y’all in advance  your stories could help me (and others) make some wise next steps.
