What process has saved you the most time in your business?

It seems like every business has one system or process that made everything else easier whether it was hiring, scheduling, invoicing, onboarding, or something completely unexpected.

If you could only keep one documented process in your business, what would it be and why? What problem did it solve, and how much time or stress did it save?

  • For me, having a simple job checklist has saved the most time. Instead of relying on memory, every job follows the same basic steps—from confirming the appointment and preparing equipment to doing a final walkthrough before leaving. It reduces missed details, keeps everyone on the same page, and cuts down on follow-up calls because customers know what to expect. It wasn't anything complicated, but documenting a repeatable process made day-to-day operations much smoother.

  • I'm still in the startup phase, but I'm documenting my processes now instead of waiting until I'm busy. Every lesson, contact, and decision goes into a checklist or SOP. My goal is to spend less time reinventing the wheel and more time moving the business forward.
