The biggest mistake I kept making was spending time on things that felt productive but weren't moving the business forward.
Last year I burned hours fixing old equipment instead of focusing on sales. The equipment felt urgent but it wasn't generating revenue — it was just busy work I was comfortable with.
This year I noticed something different: the moment things slowed down in spring, I started scrolling my phone instead of working on the business. I'm actually more productive when my schedule is packed. When there's space, I fill it with noise instead of high-value work.
The lesson I'm still working on: staying intentional about where your time goes, especially when things slow down. That's when the real work on the business should happen — and it's exactly when it's hardest to do it.
