Great question! As someone who’s currently growing Mowing With A Purpose Landscaping, I believe there’s value in both. Residential work helped me build relationships, gain referrals, and sharpen my systems. Commercial is definitely one of my long-term goals because it can provide more consistent recurring revenue, but it also comes with higher expectations, larger equipment needs, insurance requirements, and often a longer sales cycle.
My plan is to build a strong residential foundation while gradually adding commercial accounts as my business grows. I’d love to hear from those who’ve successfully balanced both. What was the biggest challenge when making the transition?
