How did you fund the next stage of your business?
Good morning, everyone! As I’m planning for the future, I’ve been thinking about the best way to invest in growth—whether that’s equipment, trailers, additional employees, marketing, or expanding services. I’d love to hear how other business owners approached funding their next stage of growth. Did you: Save and reinvest profits? Use financing for equipment? Apply for grants? Use business credit? Take another approach? Looking back, what decision had the biggest positive impact on your business, and what would you do differently? I appreciate any insight you’re willing to share. Hopefully this discussion can help other small business owners who are working toward the same goals.Solved49Views3likes9CommentsBusiness start-up
I am looking to start a new side business in lawn care. I may have one or two people to work with me full time so that I can keep my full time job until this thing takes off. Are there some things that any of you wish you had known before you started your businesses?555Views2likes8CommentsHow Do Lawn Care Companies Land Their First HOA and Commercial Contracts?
A little context - We're a young company, just started this spring, with 2 full time guys and about 55 recurring lawns each week that we mow. We also do mulching/clean-ups on top of this. I'm looking to get some HOAs and smaller commercial accounts lined up for next year. (we would lso like to offer snow removal and salting as a part of this, really anything to keep us busy). My question to you all: Where do I start? How do I find property managers / HOAs / Commercial owners that I should bid to? What do I need when I go into these conversations?38Views2likes2CommentsAre local marketing companies worth hiring to manage your online presence?
We keep getting calls and emails from different companies offering to manage our online presence or do our marketing. In the past we have worked with yelp and with Angi's list. To be honest, I was disappointed with both. Has anyone worked with local companies that help manage your online aspect? If so, has it been a good experience, or is it scammy?129Views2likes13CommentsRoll call! Meet & introduce yourself to other Green & Exterior Service pros

Hey everyone, I’m a small landscaping contractor just starting out to use the jobber and the interface and one of the challenges. Me and my team are having is consistent quoting. Often times we find ourselves going back to clients because we underbid materials and I’m not pleased about it. What is the best way in jobber that you guys find to help quote out jobs? Do you just have a baseline markup on all your materials or do you go different each job?71Views1like3Comments
