If you could hand off ONE admin job tomorrow, which would it be?

Owners: if you could hand ONE admin job to someone tomorrow and trust it was done right, which would it be? Quotes, invoicing, chasing payments, scheduling, or something else? I'll compile everyone's answers into a one-page list and post it back here.

Close to a year ago, I handed off invoicing, and man, has it been nice.

We are now much more current than I ever was. I was always basically a month behind.

More recently, I've handed off estimating to AI. Wow, the accuracy and the quickness to which I can now get out small electrical estimates is blowing me away. I also did a larger tenant improvement quote the other night in about 20 minutes. There's no way I ever would have got to it.

  • Thanks Byron, going from a month behind to current is the part owners rarely expect when they hand invoicing off. And a tenant improvement quote in 20 minutes is a big jump. When you handed off invoicing, did it go to a person (office manager, bookkeeper) or to software?

I would love to hand off lead generation and closing sales. I mainly use Homestars at the moment and having someone who could monitor that and just fill the schedules would be great. It takes up a lot of time throughout the day and also into the evenings when most people are online posting job requests.

That's a great one, and the evening part is the real cost: requests land when you're off the tools, and the first reply usually wins the job. Owners I've talked to who fixed it set one rule: every new request gets a reply within 15 minutes with two time options, even if a person confirms later. That's exactly the kind of work we're building Braind to run for owners, with your OK before anything goes out. If you'd like to try it early, the list is here: braindd.xyz/founders?src=jobber
