My philosophy is that if a candidate can’t follow our simple application process (it is about 8 steps), they don’t qualify. We had rejected over 200 applicants in four months due to the inability to complete an application.
while we aren’t contractors, cleaning also requires delivery on clear scopes of work. In my experience, I used to hire literally anyone interested (I’m thankful to save myself and my leadership team many headaches opting out of this method lol).
There are cleaning companies doing over $5MM/year that I’ve spoken to that hire 1/500 applicants due to the inability to follow instructions. Their retention rate is admirable and that helps me believe I’m not being unreasonable ☺️
