JOBBER grant!

What are you going to do with the grant if you get it??

  • If I’m fortunate enough to receive the grant, I’ll be investing it into Skilled Trades Genius (STG)—a platform built to change how the skilled trades connect, network, and get hired.

Imagine social media combined with Indeed and ZipRecruiter, designed exclusively for the skilled trades. Instead of relying only on a résumé, workers can showcase their skills through videos, photos, certifications, and completed projects, while contractors and business owners can discover talent, connect directly, and hire with confidence.

The funding would help accelerate development, expand our reach, enhance AI-powered tools, and build a stronger community for more than 80 skilled trades.

My mission is simple: create one place where skilled workers can build their reputation, grow their careers, and where businesses can find the right talent faster than ever before.

Wishing everyone the best of luck—we’re all working hard to make a difference in our industries! 💪🔨🚀

This is a great vision. I love seeing entrepreneurs create solutions to real problems, especially in industries that don’t always get the recognition they deserve. The skilled trades are the backbone of our communities, and creating a platform that helps workers showcase their abilities while helping businesses find reliable talent could make a huge impact. I think giving skilled professionals a place to build their reputation beyond just a résumé is a powerful idea.  Wishing you the best with Skilled Trades Genius. It’s exciting to see people building tools that can create more opportunities for others and strengthen the trades community.

If I’m fortunate enough to receive the Jobber Grant, I would use it as a stepping stone to grow my business and create more opportunities. I would invest in the equipment, tools, and resources needed to provide better service to my customers and continue building a business I can be proud of. For me, this isn’t just about buying things—it’s about building a foundation. I started this journey because I wanted to create something of my own, help people, and make a positive impact in my community. This grant would help turn a vision into something bigger. It would allow me to serve more customers, create memories, and continue proving that with hard work, dedication, and the right support, small businesses can grow into something meaningful.

If awarded this grant, funds will go directly toward expanding access to safe, high-quality post-operative care in our community. My first priority is producing professionally designed post-operative recovery booklets that give patients clear, easy-to-follow guidance once they’re home. I also plan to assemble recovery kits with essential medical supplies such as blood pressure monitors, thermometers, pulse oximeters, wound care supplies, and comfort items that help patients recover safely and confidently.

The goal is simple: reach more patients before complications occur, improve recovery outcomes, reduce unnecessary hospital readmissions, and continue building a sustainable nurse practitioner-led concierge recovery service that fills a critical gap in post-operative care.”

This is an incredible vision. I really respect the focus on helping people during one of the most vulnerable times in their lives. Recovery after surgery can be overwhelming, and having clear guidance, the right supplies, and someone supporting you through the process can make a huge difference.

I love that your mission is centered around prevention, education, and improving people’s quality of life—not just treating problems after they happen. Providing patients with the tools and confidence they need to recover safely is a powerful way to make an impact in the community.

Wishing you the best of luck with the grant. This is exactly the type of work that shows how small businesses and healthcare providers can create meaningful change.

You are absolutely right!! Thank you!!

  • I win this grant, I will put the capital directly into scaling my operations from a specialized trade shop to a high-volume service hub. My strategy is focused on maximizing production capacity while securing my brand's professional foundation. I will deploy the funds across four critical areas: First, Scaling Throughput, by acquiring advanced sharpening systems and custom precision platens to drastically increase output without sacrificing quality. Second, Operational Continuity, by securing a dedicated inventory of specialized belts, grinding wheels, and safety gear to eliminate supply chain delays and ensure zero downtime. Third, Brand and Shop Presence, by investing in a complete digital and physical refresh, including a new website, branding, and high-quality shop furniture to drive trust and premium pricing. Fourth, Financial and Logistics Integrity, by reserving a portion of the funding as a contingency buffer for logistics, shipping costs, and tax obligations to keep this scaling phase financially sound. Bottom line: This grant removes every production bottleneck and professionalizes the Sharp Artisan brand, allowing me to confidently double my volume within the next 12 months.

This is a great example of having a clear plan and understanding exactly where the investment needs to go. I like that you’re not just looking at the grant as funding, you’re using it as a tool to remove obstacles, improve efficiency, and build a stronger foundation for long-term growth. Investing in equipment, operations, and your brand shows that you’re focused on creating a sustainable business that can serve more customers while maintaining quality. It’s exciting to see entrepreneurs taking their craft seriously and building something with a vision for the future.

Wishing you the best of luck with the grant. I hope it helps take Sharp Artisan to the next level! 💪🚀

Thank you so much for the kind words and encouragement!

Receiving feedback like this really validates the hard work and vision I am pouring into Sharp Artisan. I have invested just shy of 16,000 dollars of my life savings into my business, and I am incredibly excited about this next phase. This grant will help take my business over the top, and these resources will allow me to scale my operations and elevate my craft without ever compromising on quality.

That’s an exciting problem to have—running out of space means the business is growing! 🙌 A larger facility could open up a lot of opportunities to increase production, take on more customers, and continue building the brand.    I haven’t received a Round 3 update email yet either. The waiting definitely has everyone checking their inboxes more than usual lol. Wishing everyone the best of luck, and it’s awesome seeing so many businesses with plans to use the grant to take the next step.

  • If I were fortunate enough to receive this grant, I would invest it directly into growing my junk removal business. My first priorities would be purchasing better equipment, upgrading my trailer and tools, and investing in marketing to reach more customers. These improvements would allow me to complete jobs more efficiently, provide an even better customer experience, and take on larger projects.

Beyond growing the business, my goal is to create local job opportunities and build a company known for reliability, professionalism, and honest service. Every investment would be focused on long-term growth so I can continue helping homeowners and businesses keep their properties clean while making a positive impact in my community.

This grant wouldn't just help me grow—it would help me build a stronger, more sustainable business that serves my community for years to come.
