I believe you are referring to the "salesperson" feature on the quotes and invoices. This feature is set up this way for tracking and reporting. All companies are different, and some may have technicians who do not fully own that scope of work - this is why it is an option. This also comes in handy if an employee is absent, and another one needs to create a quote on their behalf.
It sounds like you are hoping for that section to be automatically selected based on the person who is logged in. I think that is valuable feedback, and I am happy to share it with our Product Development team!
