Have you ever had to place a lien on someone for not paying?

I'm having to do this on a corporation and I'm wondering how everyone's contracts or home services agreements are structured so they can produce a lien if someone doesn't pay. I have mine in the term...

I have not put a lien but I have chased people and showed up at 8 am at their door.  This guy specifically did not pay me for 6 months.  Within a week I got payment.  I also went to small claims court and this process is very long and nothing really happened.  We do not book any jobs without a credit card on file.  This has saved a lot of heartache.
