If you’re not a tech person, it’s worth having someone who is take a look at your entire job flow. They may be able to spot opportunities to streamline things and help you build and implement simple systems.
I’m a tech guy, and I’ve created several basic tools we use every day that save a huge amount of time. They’re specific to our business, but as an example, we can now generate most bids from a few client photos and a handful of measurements. Before, we were doing site visits, taking tons of measurements, writing everything down by hand, and manually entering it into a spreadsheet. It was easily 2–6 hours of actual work per bid, including travel. Now it’s 10–20 minutes, with no travel. Not sure if that's the type of SOP you mean, but it's how we produce most bids now, compared to how we used to do all of them.
If you don’t know enough about tech to see where it could apply, including in operations, you might be missing some significant time and cost-saving opportunities.
