Here’s my take: Good/Better/Best pricing is one of the most effective ways to boost your average ticket while closing more jobs on-site. It shifts the homeowner's mindset from "Should I hire this company?" to "Which option works best for my budget?"
Here is how to structure and present it:
- Good (Fix the Immediate Problem): Solves the main issue safely and to code. This protects you against low-ball competitors for budget-focused clients.
- Better (The Value Sweet Spot): Adds practical upgrades like surge protection, higher-grade components, or extended warranties. Keep the price jump from "Good" reasonable—50%–60% of homeowners will naturally land here.
- Best (The Premium Package): The complete, all-inclusive solution (whole-home protection, maintenance plans, top-tier gear). Even if only 15%–20% pick it, it acts as a high price anchor that makes the "Better" option look like a deal.
Keys for Closing On-Site:
- Present "Best" First: Anchoring high makes the middle option feel much more affordable.
- Sell Outcomes, Not Parts: Frame options around peace of mind and protection rather than technical line items.
- Lead with Monthly Payments: Showing "Option 2 for $45/month" removes upfront friction and makes upgrading on the spot an easy decision.
If you worry about whether you should just offer one "best" option:
Your craftsmanship, safety, and code compliance stay non-negotiable across the board—you never cut corners. The tiers simply give the homeowner control over the materials, scope, and warranty levels that best fit their budget.

Hey Travis,
Love the reply ! Appreciate the input. We’ve been doing it for many years. Maybe you can help with How do we accomplish it in Jobber ?

To set this up in Jobber using Good / Better / Best pricing, you’ll want to create a single Quote with optional line items or packages. Here is how it works:
- Create a New Quote for the client in Jobber.
- Add Line Items for Each Option: Create your line items or package groups representing your tiers (e.g., Good / Standard, Better / Upgraded, Best / Premium).
- Mark Items as Optional: Edit the line items and check the box to make them Optional (or allow package selection).
- Send the Quote: When the client opens the quote in the Client Hub, they will be able to select which package/tier they want to approve before signing and accepting.
This lets the customer choose their budget level directly on the quote without you having to send multiple separate estimates!
If you're using the Jobber mobile app, you can do this when drafting the quote by tapping Add Line Item, selecting your service/package, and toggling on Optional.
I hope this helps you with Jobber!!!
