How to charge for inspections in advance with online and AI Booking?
We have been trying to use the online booking feature as well as the AI assistant booking feature on jobber. We primarily use it to schedule inspections. The major downside, is that without speaking to the clients first, we cannot vet the quality of inspections, and we end up with lots of last minute cancelations and low quality leads. I think that charging an inspection fee or even simply collecting a card on file would help prevent these issues. What is the best way to go about this? We’re trying to determine whether other Jobber users are experiencing similar behavior with request forms and estimate attachments. We’ve noticed that after a customer submits our request form, the page appears to load near the footer instead of clearly displaying the confirmation message near the top of the page. Over time, we’ve had multiple customers contact us asking whether their submission went through because they were unsure if the form had successfully submitted. We also noticed that the “custom confirmation page” option appears in settings, but we haven’t been able to get it functioning properly on our end. Separately, we’re experiencing an issue on iPhone and iPad where PDF attachments (specifically our Terms & Conditions PDF) fail to upload when attaching documents to estimates through the mobile app, even though this previously worked for us. Has anyone else experienced either of these behaviors or found a workaround? I’ve attached screenshots showing the post-submission page positioning issue for reference. What customers see after redirect. If they scroll up they can see the confirmation message, but they have to know to do this. We’re trying to better understand how other users are handling request form confirmations. Has anyone successfully used the “custom confirmation page” option with online booking/request forms? Specifically: Are you able to redirect customers to a separate thank-you or instruction page after form submission? Does the redirect work consistently on desktop and mobile? If not, what workflow are you using instead? We’re trying to improve customer clarity after submission and would appreciate hearing how others have configured this successfully. We have an internal first time site visit checklist (PDF Doc) that we want the guys to follow. I see where I can make job forms on Jobber and then add them to jobs. But in the workflow, the site visit form is different than the job form. I can't seem to add job forms to assessments on the system. Am I missing something? I wish Jobber would incorporate a feature into the scheduling where one could make a schedule as follows : Every other Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Every other Wednesday, Thursday etc. Basically I need to create a schedule to work around my full time job schedule as we work rotating shifts. 2 on 2 off 3 on 2 off 2 on 3 off etc. I would love to setup online booking but can't because I cannot remove the days I'm unavailable due to my full-time job schedule. Hey everyone, I love using Jobber for my cleaning business, but I’m finding the online booking functionality a bit lacking. We’re losing potential clients and wasting ad spend because customers can't book instantly online. While we always respond quickly to inquiries, the inability to offer instant booking is really hurting us. We provide a range of services—End of Lease, General Home Cleaning, Airbnb Cleaning (based on the number of rooms, bathrooms, etc.)—and have optional extras like oven cleaning and linen hire. Setting all this up in Jobber's online booking system has been a nightmare! I know some of our competitors use platforms like Booking Koala or Launch27, but I really don’t want to switch. Has anyone found a good workaround within Jobber or a solution that works for similar businesses? Hey all, I have a pain point and I wonder if anyone else is experiencing this. Requests converted to Jobs via online booking lose the data of the Request. So if a customer uses a Request form (via the public website or through Ai Receptionist (which I don't have set up for Booking because I don't want the public to have access to that -- it's a previous customer only function in our world), and then books the visit online, the Request data is NOT moved into the Job, so the techs don't know what the Job is about. Pictures are moved to the Job form. If you have every possible product and service delineated in the booking form, I suppose the Request information might be superfluous, however, in plumbing there are so many variations, and sometimes we show up with the problem identified, not the solution (i.e., line items of products and services). We have more umbrella terms in our Request and Booking forms (routine jobs, multi-faceted jobs, etc.) as choices. Most customer wouldn't know a flange from a fill valve from a flapper, so it makes sense to present their choices in terms customer can understand. In any case, I think it's important to convey to the field crews what the customer said in their own words - can help the conversation when they arrive on site. Hey all, Anyone having trouble with online booking through ClientHub? I direct existing customers to log into ClientHub before submitting a request so they won't have to put in all their details, address, email, phone, etc. every time they are looking for service. All good, right? Notsomuch. The issue is twofold: 1. The booking form is giving me an error message at the point the customer reaches the calendar to book (after they have already described the issue, marked it urgent/routine, etc.). Only the form linked in client hub is having this problem - the the link copied from the form works fine; and 2. Though my ClientHub preferred form is toggled to Booking, the Request is the one that appears front and center in ClientHub, so unless the customers knows to look over to the left menu and hit +Booking they are filling out a regular request form that does not have real-time online booking. I want to keep the online booking capability isolated to our existing customers for a variety of reasons, and this is an issue that support has thus far been unable to resolve. Also - did you know? If existing customers fill out a request form and type in one letter in the address that differs from what exists in the client file (for example, Spring Street instead of Spring St which is in the existing client file), it will create a duplicate property. Just delete the duplicate, right? Wrong. The request is tied to the "new" address, so you would have to recreate the request and attach it to the existing property, so all requests, quotes, jobs and invoices stay together. Am I the only one who is bothered by this?? Jobber just updated Booking Forms so that customers can now book directly to the schedule like how Online Booking and the AI Receptionist does it. This a great update and gives real purpose to the booking forms. BUT... there's a couple things.. Customers can only book Business Day(s) Away. Weekends are not possible. I literally watched my AI Text Receptionist argue with a customer saying Sunday is not possible when it very much is. Most businesses on Jobber are service companies and also need a dropdown to change Days Away to Hours Away. If our schedule is wide open: A - We're missing out on jobs B - Customers are going to find someone else that's faster. I created a Automatic Approval and Auto Payment Form. The most reasonable way to do this was by making a custom booking form. It's fine. It works. But an optional signature box like how there is on Job Forms would be extremely useful. Other issue: My last employer was a Plumbing, Heating & Electric business that used Service Titan. There were hundreds of line items. Service Titan allows a manager to create folders for the line items. There was one for Plumbing, Heating, etc. It kept things very organized. Pulling this off in Jobber without folders or any means of organization would be a nightmare. Searching is not reliable enough as nearly everything in the trades has multiple names. I have been getting many emails and texts asking for quotes and such. As of now I've been using google tasks to mark down the things I need to accomplish. However, I would like to have it all in one place with jobber. It would be very helpful to have a Task section where I can create a task that is linked to a client.
