The biggest time drain for us is the handoff between technicians in the field and the office. There is no required service story or completion report when a visit is finished, so we've had to build custom checklists just to make sure technicians document what they did, what they found, readings, materials used, recommended repairs, parts needed, and whether a return visit is required. The office then has to manually interpret all of that information to determine what gets invoiced, what needs a quote, and what needs to be scheduled next.
Ideally, completing a visit would create a structured technician report and then drive the next action automatically: invoice completed work, create or draft a quote for recommended work, or flag/schedule a return visit. We frequently bill the diagnostic/service visit immediately and then quote additional corrective work separately, and that workflow currently requires too many manual steps.
Maintenance agreements are another major area. We need an easier way to track what equipment is covered, how many included visits remain, what has already been completed, future visits, and renewal dates. Approved maintenance quotes should also be able to automatically create the appropriate visits instead of requiring the office to manually build and schedule each one.
Finally, the QuickBooks integration needs better visibility and control. Tax mappings and sync behavior can be difficult to troubleshoot, especially with multiple 0% tax treatments, and there should be a clear way to see exactly what was mapped, why something changed during sync, and manually retry or correct a specific transaction.
Overall, Jobber already stores most of the information we need. The biggest opportunity would be helping move the work automatically from field report to invoice/quote to approval to return visit to final billing, instead of requiring the office to manually connect every step.
