How to manage duplicate clients, flags, and scheduling visibility in Jobber?

Hello,

A few things I'd love to see added to jobber, if not already there and I have the wrong package.

Being able to merge clients! When multiple people answer the phone, some do not check for previously entered spelling errors and such, we end up with multiple duplicate clients. Multiple jobs/invoices are scattered within all the duplicate clients.

Being able to flag clients, maybe a color coded flag like red for no service at all, yellow, needs payment collected first or allow us to label our flags how we need to. Or give us a drop down box to make selections by color, or a preview box so we see it as soon as the clients name is entered before scheduling and without it being on the profile for invoices and receipts.

Color highlight for clients that are on the schedule, like if someone is flexible and can be worked in on a day we have a cancelation or a color if they have to have a solid appointment day. These colors need to be separated from the team colors and be able to be seen on the calendar view so CSR's can see at a glance that someone can be worked in right away if there is a cancelation.

That's all I got for now :)

    Jobber Support Team

Hi CookAppliance, thanks so much for taking the time to share this feedback. These are all really common workflow challenges, and you are definitely not alone in running into them.

On duplicate clients, at this time Jobber does not support merging client records. The best workaround is prevention, making sure the team searches existing clients carefully before creating new ones. I completely understand how tricky this can be with multiple people answering phones, and I have passed this feedback along, as this is something many teams ask for.

For flagging or labeling clients, Jobber does offer custom client tags. Tags can be used to note items such as no service, payment required first, VIP, flexible scheduling, and more. While tags are not colour-coded and do not surface directly on the schedule or booking flow, they can be very helpful internally for identifying clients and filtering lists. You are correct though that they are not visible at a glance in the calendar, and that is valuable feedback.

Regarding scheduling visibility and colour highlights, currently colours on the schedule are tied to team members or keywords rather than client attributes. Has your team tried using the keywords to colour-code clients based on flexibility or appointment requirements directly on the calendar? Many teams handle this with internal notes, tags, or naming conventions, but I agree that true visual indicators would make this much easier for CSRs managing cancellations and fill-in opportunities.

I really appreciate you laying this out so clearly. Product feedback like this is actively reviewed by our team, and posts like yours help shape future improvements. Please keep it coming if you think of anything else.

    Thanks again for sharing.
