Yeah, I’ve noticed a slight slowdown too compared to last year—nothing crazy, but definitely not as “automatic” as it used to be.
I don’t think it’s just one thing. Feels like a mix of:
- People being a little tighter with money right now
- More competition popping up in the space
- And customers shopping around more instead of booking right away
What’s helped me:
- Following up WAY more than before (a lot of jobs are sitting in “maybe” longer)
- Offering simple add-ons instead of heavy discounts
- Pushing value hard instead of price (before/after content, reviews, etc.)
Also noticed lighting installs and higher-ticket services are still moving if you position them right.
Curious—are you seeing more ghosting after quotes too or just fewer leads overall?

I've noticed it also, but I have noticed quite a few new companies popping up in my area. I have bidded quite a few jobs, won a couple of them and got ghosted on a few. Followed up on the ones I didn't get and some of the owner's said they went with someone cheaper and some said they were going to save their money due to gas prices rising and everything else going up because of the gas prices...a little tuff right now for everyone...

Yeah, I’m seeing the same slowdown.
I’m a one-man pressure washing crew and I’m definitely not as busy as I was last year this time. I’ve had to run a few discounts just to keep work coming in.
I don’t think it’s the price of eggs or anything going on with Iran. People are just being a lot tighter with their money right now. Even normal maintenance jobs that used to be easy are taking longer to book.
You seeing the drop more on houses or driveways?
