How to do a pest control estimate?

Hello everyone, Daniel here from Pest Free Canada.

I am wondering if there are any other pest control companies on here who have any new or interesting ways to provide a estimate to a potential client? Or even to add value to a current customer?

My company focuses on solving a customers immediate and ongoing issues, but also doing exclusion work to prevent it from happening again. I also like to look for other small jobs that a client may need and offer that service to them. I feel like this strategy adds the most value to every stop I make and lets the customer know that I care about really solving their issues.

  • Hello, Daniel! I commented on another post of yours. 

    I have been thinking about offering exclusion work as well but I want to figure out the logistics first. I’ve been doing this lead acquisition for honeybee removal specialists for 10 years. I did a lot of removals to begin with but became so busy managing calls for service that I left that behind to focus on referrals. All the guys that work for me are independent contractors, so I can’t manage the exclusion work too closely. I can’t do it myself because I work full time, in local government. 

    I feel like this is a great opportunity but I’m just not in a position to do it. How easy is it to sell to the customer?

    Hi, I’m Frank and I’ve been in the Pest Control business for many years. The target pest you’re clients or potential clients have is important as far as pricing. I specialize in Bed Bugs only because it is most profitable, when I owned my own company years ago in South Jersey I had little to no overhead so my prices were more that reasonable, the initial service with a follow up several days later, of course there was a price on that as well made it a very comfortable situation for both myself and my clients. Other targets can be more trouble such as Cockroaches, tick and fleas so your time is valuable. Never sell a service that’s not needed and never forget your worth.
