What’s your biggest "red flag" when talking to a prospective client?

We’ve all taken on a job we regretted five minutes after showing up on site. Whether it's them mentioning the last three guys who "did a terrible job" or trying to haggle the price before you even finish the walkthrough—what is your number one sign that a client is going to be a nightmare to deal with?

  • I get very weary when they are misinformed and demand a professional do what they heard from Google or AI search. They don't take into account a different environment, different laws and regulations, or that solution being applied to a different situation. I always answer with "Why did you call a professional? You seems to know exactly what to do!"

  • When they tell me if I give them a deal they'll get me lots of work. You don't even know if I'm going to do a good job? How can you tell me you're going to refer me to all of your friends/family if you've never seen what we do.

  • Thanks for the feedback, it sounds like they don't respect your expertise and the True Value of your professional work and it sounds like you both stick to your boundaries and know you're worth!!!
