People historically held onto CompanyCam for three specific field workflows, but Jobber’s recent product updates completely closed those gaps and eliminated the need for a second subscription:
- Fast Field Uploading: CompanyCam was the king of background syncing, but Jobber updated its mobile camera to allow rapid, consecutive batch-uploading. Techs can snap a dozen photos in a row on-site without the app lagging or freezing while waiting for files to process.
- Image Markup & Job Site Notes: You used to need CompanyCam to draw lines or drop notes on photos. Now, Jobber has native Image Markup Tools built right into the app—allowing you to draw arrows, place shapes, and add text (like measurements or notes) directly onto photos from the field. Plus, you can @mention team members right in the job notes to instantly flag property issues.
- Centralized Media Storage: The biggest hurdle used to be finding old photos across different jobs. Jobber’s new Files and Media Library aggregates every photo, checklist attachment, and document into a single, filterable, client-level gallery. You can instantly pull up old before-and-afters or on-site documentation without digging through historical job notes.
When you pair all of that with Jobber's automated job checklists and GPS-timestamped waypoints on notes, it completely duplicates CompanyCam's core functionality. I'd much rather go all-in on mastering and supporting the core CRM that actually drives my scheduling, invoicing, and payments than throw money at a redundant app just to store pictures.
Hopefully that brings you up to speed on Jobbers new helpful updates, I hope it helps you out!!!

Right ?!
Also the new Jobber marketing feature job showcase...I'm not seeing the use case to keep companycam going as well as how expensive it is.
You could make the case for canceling companycam and using that money for LiveSwitch for site documentation and also getting virtual video quotes with AI quoting...- travisshepherd7 days agoContributor 5
That’s a creative stack, but you’re sacrificing your daily field operations for a front-end sales tool. LiveSwitch and AI quoting are awesome for virtual estimates and saving gas on the sales side, but they don't replace what your guys actually need on the truck every day.
If you cancel CompanyCam and rely entirely on a virtual quoting tool, you lose the seamless, rugged field documentation that protects your business on-site. Techs aren’t going to use a virtual sales app to snap 50 rapid-fire photos of pre-existing property damage, mark up a cracked concrete driveway, or organize internal crew notes while their hands are dirty.
Jobber’s new mobile updates, native image markups, and central Files library mean you get the heavy-duty field documentation of CompanyCam built directly into your CRM for free.
Why pay for a separate virtual quoting subscription to replace a photo app, when Jobber gives you the field tracking natively, hooks it directly to your scheduling, and lets you host before-and-after portfolios right on your Jobber client hub anyway? Keeping it in Jobber gives you the operational safety on-site without adding another software bill.
