While I don't run Jobber in my own daily operations, the progress billing feature is set up specifically for fixed-price projects where you need to bill in stages.
Here is how the workflow is designed to function:
It requires setting the job up as Fixed Price first, as progress billing isn't available on recurring or time & materials jobs. Under the billing details, you turn on progress invoicing.
When you reach a billing milestone, you open the job, click create invoice, and select progress invoice. From there, you can choose to bill by a percentage of the total project, pick specific finished line items, or type in a custom dollar amount.
Jobber automatically tracks the original contract total, what has already been invoiced, and the remaining balance so the client can see where the project stands. Once the project is wrapped up, running the final progress invoice clears out the remaining balance and closes the job out.
I just wanted to layout the operational structure here to show how the process works from start to finish.
