What is Happening with Tips in Jobber?

Jobber allows employees to collect tips through the payment app, but those tips are not automatically separated from the owner’s totals. That means unless you manually account for them, you could end up paying taxes on employee tips. Make sure you’re tracking and adjusting this properly to avoid overpaying.I spook with Jobber today about this. They seem surprised as they have not planed for this. Their lack of for site means a lot more work for accounting. Jobber must fix or give a credit.

We use gusto as a payroll provider and we are able to pull tips out of the employees pay then put it in gusto so we don't get taxed on it.

One tip - if people are paying with a credit card in jobber pay, you are paying 3% when that hits your account so make sure to take that out of their employee tips or you are subsidizing admin costs on their tips.

    Hi JobberUser

Thanks for bringing this up, we appreciate you sharing your experience here.

We’d love to better understand your workflow so we can share clear, actionable feedback with our Product team. Could you share a bit more about how you’re currently handling tips, and what you would ideally expect to see in Jobber? For example, how you’d want tips to be tracked, separated, or reported for accounting purposes.

Any additional details you can provide will really help us make things we can do in this area.
