+1 on this. Until something native exists, a few workarounds can cut setup time per agreement:
- Put equipment on the property, not the client. Jobber lets you add custom fields to properties, so you can have fields like "System 1 model/serial" and "System 1 install date". It's not a real equipment list, but it travels with the address if the house changes hands.
- Use transferable custom fields for the plan details. If you create a field like "Plan tier" or "Systems covered" on the quote and tick "Transferable", it carries forward to the job and the invoice, so the office isn't retyping it after the quote is approved.
- Keep a renewal-date field on the client and add it as a column in the client report. Sort by it once a month and you have your renewal list. Custom fields show up in reports under Columns.
- Autopay only tries once. If plans are billed monthly through automatic payments, Jobber doesn't retry a failed charge: admins get an email and the invoice shows a banner. Worth checking failed payments weekly so a lapsed card doesn't quietly turn into a free plan.
- Put the plan name in the recurring job title (e.g. "Gold plan: spring + fall tune-up") so techs see it on the schedule without opening the client.
Member discounts on repairs are still manual. One workaround is member-rate versions of your common repair items, so whoever quotes just picks the right one.
