I have been asking about this issue since the first week we started using Jobber and nothing has changed. Trying to route 30-40 clients per day all over the map is very difficult if it is using "as the crow flies". A house could look close by but you would have to cross a river and two pastures to get to it and the road that actually leads you to the property passes by 5 other properties that you service. It doesn't make sense and it is very irritating in any service based industry, especially because, as a lawn care service team, we have to schedule 32 weeks of mowing per client and the route that you pick on Thursday one week doesn't stay the same, after you adjust it how you actually want it because the routing is doesn't make any sense, for any of the other weeks. Thus making me have to go in every day and every week to make sure that the routes are correct for my guys so they aren't bouncing back and forth all day long passing by houses that we actually service. It is a waste of VERY valuable time for everyone! Routing should be straight forward using maps, not crow flies and I should be able to set it up ONE time and not have to worry about it again until we add someone new and I need to add them into the schedule.
Also, in the new scheduling platform, I am unable to route specific days at all anymore. There used to be a button to start your day from a specific property and it would semi route the day accordingly to where we could go in and adjust the ones that were not correct (because of the "crow flies" method) but it is no longer an option. The routing is very non user friendly and is making everything very difficult the more clients we add on each year.
Hi CoolCuts! Thank you for sharing this detailed feedback.
If you’re open to it, someone from our product team would love to connect with you directly to better understand your experience. It would be great to get on a call and walk through your workflow so we can identify ways to improve the product.
Let me know if that works for you, and we’ll get it set up.
