Recurring Schedule Routing

is there a way to create a route that automatically routes properly?

Im mowing, i drop in the customers on the weekly repeating routes and days. I get them routed, and (again as the system doesn't route by drive time but geo code) i have to move a bunch of them around. Its the same route. I would like to have a route template or something like that.

    Hi BlueSkies

Out of curiosity, what specifically is not working well with the current optimization for you?

    Is it mostly:
    • the order in which the jobs are being placed?
    • drive times not making practical sense?
    • recurring customers shifting around week to week?
    • crews crossing over each other geographically?
    • needing more consistency so the same neighborhoods stay together?

Right now, Jobber is optimizing more heavily around geocode proximity than true drive-time routing, so I could definitely see recurring mowing routes becoming frustrating if you’ve already built a manually optimized flow that works better operationally.

A “route template” style workflow for recurring visits is an interesting idea, though, especially for lawn care, where consistency week to week matters just as much as pure optimization.

Order of jobs being placed. So instead of as an example. I have 3 properties in a court. So they are all literally in same spot practically as the truck doesn't move. I have another property you can see by looking out the "back" of the court on the street behind it. SO routing wise, i should hit every proeprty in the court then do the one behind on the other street. Instead, it has me doing one then going to the other street then back. If i could lock in the route that would be fine. I say this as yes it should be straight forward, and commen sense on the ground and i have others that are basically the same thing, but due to geo coding im backtracking if i following the optimized route, as its me i know this but if i were to hand this off to a team member, they are going to follow the route, unless i move (now) about 25 properties around.

not to sound rude, but whomever thinks geocoding is the way to go, doesn't understand service based work. I could be wrong, and thats fine, but i don't know a single service based industry where they would prefer backtraccking if they are actually optimizing the route and you get to each site when you get there. it needs to be based on drive time, what is the fastest way to get to each property on the list with the shortest time possible. I would want that for pressure washing, lawn care, HVAC, snow removal, because backtracking just increases window time, which is lost revenue. So unless they are scheduled for a specific time, the optimization only actually works if they moving effieciently. AND im not even asking for UPS logistical routing, just dont have me intentially back tracking when there isn't a reason to.
