Facebook Community Groups? Who's the expert??

Hey guys,

In my area I see a few businesses that are being really intentional about posting in these groups. Even if they aren't getting hired I'm sure they are getting a lot of local attention. You have to think the boomers are glued to those groups....

Who's killing these groups ?

Can you automate posting in these? Any software for this?

Hit me with your tips and tricks so I can dominate the local facebook groups!

Thanks a lot.

I started a buy/sell Facebook group a few years ago and have grown it to 28K centered around a specific locality in NC with a population of 32K.  While I don't use it to market my handyman biz, I do use it to market another business that I own.  The banner image for the group is an Ad for that business, and it alone generates leads.  However, I believe its real value is in building brand recognition, equity, and showcasing our USP.  When we get referrals from this area, they always know who we are and our value proposition.  Makes the sales process MUCH easier.

Several businesses post in this group on a hyper frequent basis, 2-4 times a week.  I've spoken with their owners, and they all agree that the group generates consistent leads/customers. So it works, but the key is consistency.  You have to remember that posting frequently isn't necessarily about building brand equity...it's about advertising to a potential customer at the very moment they need your service.  You never know when that is, so you have to do it all the time.

I would say that running one of these groups takes a tremendous amount of time.  I was lucky to find locals to this area (frequent posters) who I invited to be admins.  They now handle all of the admin tasks, and they feel like the Sheriffs of the group.

***My method for accomplishing the question asked***

    Hire a VA (https://www.onlinejobs.ph/) pay them $200/mo
Purchase a VPN for them so their IP is in the US
Have them find relevant groups and post into those groups daily.
Have them comment on other users' posts that are relevant to your business.

This is what I built my business on from day 1. Facebook paid advertising has made this harder specifically over the last 2-3 years. They have picked up on this and they find ways to divert you from doing free ads.

Through trial and error I've learned you can share up to 20 posts per day without being flagged for spam. I join every group related to whatever service area that I am in. Regardless of if it is a community group or a sports group, parents network at school etc. It doesn't matter specifically for service professionals. The more groups you hit on a regular basis the better luck you will have.

I would join a MASS amount of groups. All of them also have their own rules so not all your posts will get approved. Do this daily at different times of day and you'll be able to pick up on what works best for you.

I also include my page tag, business number and website with a cool graphic/advertisement so if they click it, they'll get more information and redirected to my direct websites/links. I also make it easy for them to schedule or request a quote by linking my jobber request form at the top of my facebook page and my website for easy access. I have seen a huge boost in inquiries with this tool and it is FREE. It also builds brand recognition - even if they don't book now psychologically they are seeing you, your brand name and logo again and again and again. Eventually if you or someone they know needs the service you provide you will be a top contender for who they remember most!

      Ok so questions:

Thanks for taking the time to answer by the way

      • 20 posts a day is that 20 different groups?
      • Is this all manual? We have to figure out a way to automate this haha

      Thank you.

Not for nothing but for a different perspective, you would be the exact business I would avoid like the plague. I find it intrusive when companies post that much in every possible location.

I will add that I absolutely hate social media and the burden it puts on small sole prop people who just want to run a small business and thrive in their community.

I'm glad it's working out for you. I hope this didn't come across as disrespectful.

  • I make up a free ad, then click all of the groups that I want the ad to display in.  This is a manual process, but it gets me out in front of people, and you are only doing 1 ad that posts to all of the groups.  Once a week I search for new groups in my area to post into.  I have approximately a 75% success rate of getting people to click on my ad and inquire further about the product or service.

you want to add most and all of your local groups Best thing you can do is schedule post to be posted at the time you’d like and where you’d like so when you make a post, you can add the groups that you’d like to post in if you make a new post on your page and want to share it to groups you can share only to three groups but once you share the actual post, you can share the post to 10 other groups. stay repetitive mix up the posts .

  • Great question.  We post on Facebook groups too.  I would like to know about some automation too.

I did some digging and seems like that ninja poster app isn't the best unfortunately. Lot's of poor reviews.
