How is Google handling AI Content?
Rebecca has hit it on the head. Google won't penalize you for using AI-generated content, but it will penalize you for bad/unoriginal content.
The best approach is to use AI tools as your writing assistant. If you say, “write me a landing page,” you're going to get regurgitated and a bland output. The better option is to add your context (what you do, who you serve, what makes you different, your process, objections you hear) and ask it to refine and structure the content for your website. And always review outputs for accuracy, and they match your voice/tone/brand. You can even use voice mode and talk it out, as if you’re explaining your business to a customer.
If you feed AI your customer language, you'll have a much better output to work with. Add call transcripts, email conversations, estimates, FAQs, customer asks, your SOPs, and then try telling it to transform them into service pages, FAQ pages, Blog posts, etc. Then it will be original to you and your business vs. just pulling from what's already out there.
We actually have some great podcast episodes in the new year, hitting on this topic, and we just did a Masters of Home Service Live session on practical AI use cases for those who want to dive a bit more.
