For a cleaning business, what’s worked best for us is a mix of local trust builders + simple consistency. Google Reviews are huge, ask every happy client and respond to all of them. Google Business Profile posts help more than people realize. Door hangers still work well in neighborhoods where you’re already working, especially paired with a limited-time offer. On social, short before-and-after videos and “day in the life” clips outperform polished ads. For paid leads, Google Local Services Ads and basic Google Ads beat Facebook for intent, while Facebook and Instagram are better for brand awareness and retargeting. The biggest key is following up fast and consistently.

  • We do commercial cleaning only. The one thing that's working for us right now is cold emails to a niche audience we have a lot of experience with, speaking to their unique needs.

  • We have done a few things to bring in more leads. #1- boost some IG posts (spent about $300 month) the views grows hugely with right parameters

#2 - email marketing/sales funnel we have started to get some recurring work and a few one times from that

#3- re-engage past clients with email offer (at least 1 yr since last service)

August was our busiest and most profitable month all year by a long shot. I attribute it to these 3 steps.

We build out Wordpress websites with approx. 100 landing pages and let them soak over 6-12 months. We also set up a GMB listing thats fully maxed out, along with putting an online review system in place.
Over time that typically starts to gross us 1-2 million in leads per year. Now we're averaging about 2-3 million in leads with ZERO ad spend.

Would love to hear what other cleaning companies in the community have for ideas, and I'll also share this guide as a deep dive: https://www.getjobber.com/academy/cleaning/how-to-get-clients-for-cleaning-business/

    Some of the top tactics:

    • Figure out who your ideal clients are and tailor your message to them.
    • Pick one special thing that makes your business stand out (like eco-friendly cleaning or a freebie).
    • Get a clean, simple website with photos and use local keywords.
    • Ask happy clients for referrals (maybe offer a discount when they send someone your way).
    • Set up a free Google Business Profile and collect reviews.
    • Post in local community groups
    • Hand out business cards and flyers, especially with a special offer.

All the best as you tackle this growth! 💪
