Marketing for Thanksgiving (USA): Pumpkin Day!

Our Thanksgiving has already passed in Canada, but it's not too late to run a physical marketing campaign for your business in the States! 

Each year at my previous company, we would purchase approximately 2,000 small pumpkins and attach cardstock marketing materials to them. On the Saturday before Thanksgiving, our entire team would gather to load up the trucks and head out to our target markets. We would deliver the pumpkins to everyone's doorsteps and then move on to the next stop.

This simple gesture proved to be quite effective in generating interest, as we received numerous calls from grateful recipients thanking us for their pumpkin, as well as inquiries such as, "I wasn't aware you offered ABC service", and "My friend got a pumpkin in 123 area, do you service my area as well?".  

After a few years of doing this, everyone in our market looked forward to it! It created a real buzz. I mean, who doesn't like a pumpkin?
