The best option to track time on the request would be to schedule it as an on-site assessment under the tech or sales persons name. If you need them to track their time to the actual assessment the only real option would be to have them use a general timer while they are on-site and make a note on the timer or within the assessment that they were at the assessment.
If assessments are considered billable time, set it up as a job as opposed to an assessment.
