Hey Everyone
MIT just dropped a study that tracked 54 participants using ChatGPT, Google, or no tools at all while completing writing tasks. They ran EEG scans to measure brain engagement.
So what does this mean for us ... in home services lol.
đź”» Cognitive Drop: Brain activity was lowest in ChatGPT users
❌ Low Ownership: Users couldn’t explain or recall their own work
📉 Underperformance: LLM users got worse over 4 months
⚠️ Backfire Effect: People who started with AI then went to just thinking normally actually performed worse than those who never used AI.
A lot of people are “faking it” better now with AI. But in home service and contracting, you can’t fake real understanding, hard skills, and service.
If you don’t know your pricing, if you can’t explain your value, if you haven’t built systems or have your own vision, then ChatGPT isn’t helping you grow.
So I created this graphic to go over with our team. What do you all think?
Great points - there’s definitely a right and wrong way to use tools, AI included.
