Force Fleet and Ply Applications

We are a commercial landscape maintenance and landscape construction contractor in Las Vegas, Nevada and are looking at application options to improve inventory management and fleet tracking and management. We have had various versions over the years with limited success, so I wanted to see if anyone has enrolled either and/or both Force Fleet and the Ply applications within Jobber?

If so, can you share your experiences, good or bad?

Also, if you enrolled either, what do you like about them and is there anything you would you do differently?

Force Fleet Tracking and Ply both integrate directly with Jobber, but they serve two distinct operational functions.

Force Fleet Tracking integrates with Jobber on Connect and Grow plans in the US. It uses plug-and-play OBD-II tracking devices that connect to vehicle diagnostic ports. Once connected, it displays live vehicle locations, speed, fuel levels, and battery health directly on your Jobber dispatch map and schedule. It also syncs with Jobber’s "On My Way" text notifications, sending clients a live tracking link to see arrival progress. The hardware tracks OBD-equipped motor vehicles rather than unpowered equipment, trailers, or handheld tools.

Ply integrates with Jobber on Core, Connect, and Grow plans using real-time webhooks. When a job is scheduled in Jobber, job details, client information, and custom fields automatically sync to Ply. You can view material details, pricing, and stock levels inside Jobber and reserve inventory when booking a job. Ply's dedicated platform manages mobile barcode scanning, truck stock tracking, automated supplier purchase orders, and min/max reorder thresholds. Material usage and purchasing records logged in Ply feed back into Jobber jobs for job costing.

Choosing between them depends on whether your immediate focus is fleet location tracking and arrival notifications, or managing inventory stock and material purchasing across your jobs.

I've had really good support coming from Motive. The thing i didn't like about Force Fleet is when I talked to them, they didn't have a camera that looked in to the cab of the vehicle. That's something that's really important to me so that's why I found motive. Motive's dashboard is a little much and hard to navigate but there are a lot of ways to customize it for your own use so overall I think it's a win.

  • With Ply I'd test the crew side first. if material leaves a truck and nobody records it on the visit, the inventory count will drift pretty fast and soon nobody trusts it. If a supplier delivers short or sends the wrong quantity and nobody catches it on arrival the stock count is wrong from day one. We built checks that compare supplier confirmations with the purchase order for quantity price and delivery timing, then compare the invoice with what was actually received. Send me one of your jobs and I can show you how those checks would handle the purchasing side.
