Title: How do you keep track of quotes that haven’t gotten a reply?

I saw someone mention that by the end of the day, there are still quotes they haven’t followed up on. It reminded me of a project I built for a local movement studio. The problem there was keeping track of who paid. Here it sounds like the hard part is remembering who still needs a reply.

One thing I’d try is a reminder. If you sent a quote two business days ago and it’s still open, it goes on a short list of people to follow up with. Once they reply or you close the quote, it comes off the list. You can still reach out yourself and say what makes sense for that job.

How do you guys handle this now? Do you already have a reminder that works, or do you go through your quotes at the end of the day?

We’ve handled this by giving quotes a defined follow-up window instead of letting them sit open forever.

For us, the useful part is knowing which quotes are still actually active.

We’ll follow up, let the sequence run, and if there’s still no response after about 10 days, we archive it rather than keeping a huge list of stale opportunities.

I do like the idea of a short “needs follow-up” list after two business days though. That would make it easier to separate quotes that genuinely need attention from everything else sitting in the pipeline.

The bigger lesson for me has been that every quote needs some kind of next action or exit condition. Otherwise the list gets noisy fast.
